====Alert Attachment==== Alerts are **atttached** to assets in your ARDI database. There are several different methods of attachment... ===Direct / Asset Attachment=== In this case, your alert is attached directly to a single, named asset. ===Type Attachment=== Your alert will be attached to **every asset of a particular type**. This is usually used when there's an alert (or an alert threshold) particular to a single type of asset in your ARDI system. ===Property Attachment=== Your alert will be attached to **every asset that shares all of a particular set of properties**. This is useful if you have different assets with similar control limits, but they don't share a type. They're most commonly used for control limits and speed thresholds - for instance, by attaching an out-of-control alert to any asset that has both a //target// and an //actual// speed. ===Relationship Attachment=== This attaches an alert to **the nominated asset, plus every asset found down-stream from it** along a specific relationship. This is useful when you want to deploy an alert across a set of assets, particularly if you're looking for discontinuities, leaks or other asset-to-asset changes.
