====Panel Types====

There are several different **types** of panel, designed to show different kinds of [[channels|channel]]. 

===Live Panels===

The [[Bar Chart|bar chart]] is the most common type of panel to display live [[analogue channels|analogue]] data.

You can also use the [[Gauge|gauge]] if you're trying to display where your value lies compared to your upper and lower limits.

For [[discrete channels|discrete]] data, the [[Text|text]] panel gives you a clear, colour-coded indication of the current value. 

===History Panels===

The [[Line Chart|line chart]] is the standard way of viewing analogue data over time. 

For discrete channels, the [[Discrete Chart|discrete chart]] shows the values changing as blocks of colour.

[[milestone Charts|Timeline chart]] panels are used to display non-numeric data such as text.
