====ARDI Normalisation Engine====

The ARDI Normalisation Engine is a common system in ARDI applications to handle the normalisation of data that is fed into analytics and - in particular - AI.

It has several key goals.

   * To allow users to choose how - and **if** - data is normalised,
   * Help to normalise data in a consistent manner,
   * Allow discrete values to be split into several distinct channels rather than treating them as analogue measurements,
   * Improve compatibility by negotiating between old and new input and output formats. 

In most cases, users only interact with the Normalisation Engine through //[[Normalisation Formats]]//, which are text descriptions of exactly how your data should be normalised.
