Adjusting Footage

In some cases, your 360 footage won't always line up properly. Even with dedicated 360 cameras like the GoPro Fusion series, you can get pictures at slightly different orientations and with a different 'north' direction.

You can adjust the image using the controls in the lower-right of the screen.

Using The Editor

Although you're able to edit and maintain the 360 environment entirely online, creating new scenes and footage is a little more challenging.

We normally suggest recording video - using an off-the-shelf 360 camera such as models offered by GoPro - to create a walk-through of your plant.

Avoiding Major Changes in Lighting

When converting a video to a panorama, it's helpful to avoid any large changes in light level within the one image.

Although this is sometimes unavoidable, moving from a very brightly-lit to a dimly-lit environment will force your camera settings to change. This can result in 'colour banding' - vertical bands of colour that darken as you approach the bright light source.

Avoiding Featureless Areas

When converting a video to a panorama, there can be issues when you have large, featureless areas such as plain walls that take up the entire frame of the camera.

Because the system uses movement in your image to re-construct the movement of the camera, large areas without any features cause issues - the featureless areas are 'squashed' into small parts of the image.

There are two main ways of finding assets in interactive photos.

Search

The first is through search.

Click on the search bar in the top right corner of the page, and begin typing the name, reference number, description or other ID for the asset you're looking for.

Looking Around

To move around an interactive photo in ARDI-360, click-and-hold the left mouse button, or touch-and-hold on the screen.

Once you've done this, move your finger or the mouse left, right, up and down to look around the scene.

Unlike previous versions of ARDI-360 - which used an external program called Pano2VR to edit your 360 images - ARDI now lets you edit and update your 360 scenes via the web.

Signing In

First, sign in as an ARDI administrator. Then open the 360 scene you'd like to update.

ARDI offers a tool that helps convert video taken from a mobile phone to a 360-degree panorama. Although this isn't as effective as a true photo-sphere, it's an extremely inexpensive way to build up your 360-scenes.

ARDI 360 is the interactive 360 photographic client for ARDI.

It's similar to Street View from Google* - it allows you to explore a photo-accurate version of a site from anywhere in the world, in complete safety.

But this also takes advantage of the power of ARDIs live data, history, documentation and relationships, giving you easy access so you can understand what equipment is, what it does, how it fits with the rest of the system, and how to work with it.
