How To Deploy

When setting up AR on site, there are several different methods of deployment - you can pre-allocate your markers, import their marker IDs etc.

However, one of the easiest methods is field deployment, where you simply take a set of pre-printed markers, go into the field and follow the process below…

1) Go to an asset you want to access in AR.

2) Stick on a random marker.

3) Edit the asset in ARDI from your smartphone and assign the marker ID.

4) Test

This method is not only easier and faster for the people in the field, it means that every marker has also been manually tested to work.

On a network security level, we suggest that the smart devices are on an isolated WiFi network that only has access to the ARDI server and other indirect/corporate services you may want to provide to roaming users (ie. internet and email).

Using SSO or corporate sign-in to the WiFi network can help ensure only authenticated users can access data.

Hardware firewalls should be used to ensure users on this subnet do not have direct access to your Operational Technology network.
