Property Flow

Most devices have inputs and outputs such as power, water or gas, but most assets aren't equipped with a full array of sensors to tell you about those inputs.

This means that when you look at an asset that uses water, you've got no idea what the water pressure, temperature or flow rate is, even if they are being measured elsewhere.

However, ARDI has a feature to help.

Certain types of relationships allow properties to flow down them. So - for example - the 'Water Supply' relationship will allow the Water Pressure, Water Temperature and Water Flow properties to flow through it.

This means that any1) asset down-stream from a measurement point will given extra properties taken from those up-stream measurement locations.

This way, if you look at any asset that uses water that has passed through a temperature sensor, you'll get to see that temperature. The same with pressure and flow2).

1)
ARDI actually applies quite a bit of logic to property flow, taking forks in the line and non-return points into account
2)
Any flow or rate only flows downstream if there is a straight path with no forks between the two assets - otherwise it is impossible to know how much is diverting down each path
