ARDI i3X

The ARDI i3X addon allows ARDI data to be accessed via the i3X protocol.

This provides an open, web-based, industry standard method of accessing ARDI live and historical information.

The i3X addon is almost entirely automatic. Once enabled, your i3X endpoint will be available at /i3x. for example, i3X data for our demo server https://demo.optrix.com.au/s/pl is available at https://demo.optrix.com.au/s/pl/i3x.

The i3X addon can be downloaded here (user registration required).

ARDI-Specific Behaviours

ARDI supports multiple types for a single asset.

This is not natively supported by i3X, which assumes every asset in your system only has a single type.

When viewed in i3X, each asset will only report a single type. There is no user control over that type, but it is consistent (ie. it will always return the same type unless a change is made). For example, an asset that is a 'Fail Open', 'Ball Valve' and 'Solenoid Valve' will only appear as a 'Ball Valve' in i3X.

However, searching by type still allows you to exploit ARDIs rich type system. For example, searching for 'Fail Open', or 'Ball Valve', 'Solenoid Valve' or even just 'Valve' via the i3X objects endpoint will find all matching assets.

Non-Standard Options

ARDI supports a couple of non-standard options in i3X. These are purely optional features included for convenience.

IncludeMetadata for objects/values
IncludeParents for objects/values
Resolution/Samples for objects/history
Method for objects/history
