Installing Addons

There are two main ways you can install ARDI addons or drivers - the command-line tool (which requires that the server has an active Internet connection) and the manual method (which works for offline servers).

You can use Command Prompt (Windows) or your terminal (Linux) to install new extensions such as drivers and addons.

NOTE: Internet connection required

ardimod <package code>

c:\python314\python c:\ARDI\drivers\ardimod.py <package code>

This downloads the extension from the ARDI servers and installs it into the appropriate location on your system.

It will also install any required Python libraries that need to be installed with the addon.

If you get a certificate error when attempting to download your addon, please type the following command…

c:\python314\scripts\pip install pip-system-certs

The above line will install a tool that lets Python use your Windows security certificate store to verify connections.

After installation, enable the addons from Administration|Addons or add drivers from Administration|Drivers.

To install an addon or driver manually, follow the steps below…

1) Obtain the ZIP file containing the addon/driver. These can usually be found the download section of our website.

1) Log in to your ARDI system and download/copy the ZIP file to the server.

2) Copy the contents of the ZIP file (not the file itself) to your ARDI install directory (ie. C:\ARDI\ or /opt/ardi).

3) Install any required libraries/tools (ie. Python scripts) needed by the driver or addon. These will be listed on the download page. In some cases, these libraries might also be present in the ZIP file.

4) Enable any new addons from Administration|Addons or add new drivers from Administration|Drivers.
