Creating New Hotspots
Using The Editor
Although you're able to edit and maintain the 360 environment entirely online, creating new scenes and footage is a little more challenging.
We normally suggest recording video - using an off-the-shelf 360 camera such as models offered by GoPro - to create a walk-through of your plant.
This results in a very useful, but very large video file - one too large to be uploaded and processed by your ARDI server.
We offer a Windows-only ARDI-360 Mapper package to help turn your video footage into a sequence of 360 photos and scenes. This allows you to move through your video footage, specify where that location can be found on the map, and then handles creating and connecting your various pieces of 360 footage.
Manually
If is also possible - although awkward - to create 360 assets manually.
- Create a new asset named after the location.
- Assign the type '360 Photo' to the asset.
- In media for the asset, upload the image as a file called '360.jpg'.
- Also upload a blank scene file with the same name as the asset and the extension 'p2vr'.
- Open the 360 image in ARDI-360 and add connections to other images.
- Travel into those images and create paths back to the newly-added image.
