Kiosk / Presentation Mode
Kiosk or Presentation mode is an option for ARDI web chat.
It works like normal web chat, but it also automatically accepts any incoming share requests.
This allows you to use a PC to assist in meetings and conversations by automatically bringing up manuals, images, dashboards and live properties on a shared screen, without needing to change devices.
To enable kiosk mode, add an additional 'kiosk' parameter to your web chat address, giving the following value.
Kiosk Mode Value | Result |
---|---|
1 | Automatically accepts private (ie. direct) share requests |
2 | Automatically accepts all share requests |
3 | Automatically accepts private shares when in the General group, and accepts all shares when in any other. Will always accept 'Join Group' share requests. |
For example, the full address for a kiosk web chat session that accepts all incoming share requests might be…

Kiosk Mode 3
While kiosk mode 3 is designed for kiosks that are in public areas. Initially, the kiosk will appear in the 'General' group.
In most cases, users need to specifically send share requests to the device in order to bring up information.
However, if a discussion begins, you can invite the kiosk into a group. Once there, it will then display anything shared between the members of the group.
Users should ensure that they remove the kiosk from the group when they are done so that the group is deleted and staff know that the kiosk is available again.
