Picture-in-Picture

Summary

The Picture-In-Picture mode is a separate window that allows you to add separate screens or sub-cameras that view parts of the virtual environment. Each Sub-Camera will be added in succession to a window which can be moved, resized and viewed separately to the main camera view.

Sub-cameras can be added as either World Camera's or Security Camera's:

  • World Camera's will remain placed in the Virtual Environment and display their location's perspective at all times.
  • Security Camera's will display live feed transmitted from a remote source.

Activating Picture-In-Picture Mode

To activate Picture-In-Picture mode, find the Visual Options Bar on the bottom left side of the screen and click on it. Once open, click on the Camera Icon to enable Picture-In-Picture mode.

After clicking on the Camera Icon, the Picture-In-Picture window should become visible.

Adding a World Sub-Camera

A World Sub-Camera is a separate camera from the main camera that remains positioned in any desired location within the Virtual Environment and displays its view in the Picture-In-Picture window.

To add a World Sub-Camera, click on the Plus Icon in the Picture-In-Picture Window, then choose World Camera from the popup menu.

A Sub-Camera will be placed in the virtual environment at the same location as the main camera, however it will remain in that location regardless of how the main camera is moved from that point on-wards.

Adding a Security Feed Sub-Camera

A Security Feed Sub-Camera is a separate camera which will display live security feed from a remote source and display the screen in the Picture-In-Picture Window.

To add a Security Feed Sub-Camera, click on the Plus Icon in the Picture-In-Picture Window, then choose Security Camera from the popup menu.

Select the desired live feed from the next pop-up window.

The new live camera feed will be shown as a sub-camera in the Picture-In-Picture window.

Removing a Sub-Camera

There are two ways to remove a sub-camera from the Picture-In-Picture window.

Clicking on the Trash Icon will remove the last sub-camera added.

Alternatively, right clicking within any Sub-Camera screen will remove specifically the sub-camera that was clicked on.

Snap to a Sub-Camera Position

To snap to any sub-camera position, simply left click on the desired sub-camera's screen area.

After clicking, the main camera will assume the position of the chosen sub-camera.

Re-Ordering a Sub-Camera

When hovering a the mouse cursor over any sub-camera screen, notice the up and down arrow icons that appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. These are the ordering buttons.

Click the Up-Arrow to increase the sub-camera's priority.

Click the Down-Arrow to decrease the sub-camera's priority.

Attaching a Sub-Camera to Follow an Asset

When hovering a the mouse cursor over any sub-camera screen, notice the icon in the upper left of the screen of two arrows intertwined. This is the Follow Asset button.

Click on the Follow Asset button, a pop-up list containing all of the nearby assets will be displayed. Select an asset from the pop-up list to have the sub-camera follow that asset.

Notice that once selected, a small text will display in the sub-camera screen notifying which asset it is following.

To unattach a sub-camera from its followed asset, repeat this process and select Nothing from the list.

Resizing and Moving the Picture-In-Picture Window

To move the Picture-In-Picture window, click and hold the mouse button on the top bar area of the window.

With the mouse button held down move the mouse to move the window. Release the mouse button to place the window in the desired position.

To resize the window, click on and hold the mouse button over the white tab at the bottom right of the window.

With the mouse button held down, move the mouse outwards and inwards to expand or contract the window. As the window resizes, it will re-position each sub-camera screen to fit as necessary.

View All Mode

View All mode is a method of displaying all sub-cameras and the main camera at once for viewing purposes. To enable View-All Mode, click on the View All Mode Button.

To exit View All Mode, click on the View All Mode button at the top left of the screen.

Minimizing the Picture-In-Picture Window

It is possible to minimize the Picture-In-Picture window by clicking the Arrow Icon in the upper right corner of the window.

Once minimized, click the same Icon again to maximize the window.
