Creating Work Orders

There are two main ways of creating work orders.

From the Create Work Order button on either the Work Order List or from the Asset Maintenance Page.

Once a work order is entered into the system, information from that order is placed into the assets involved in the order.

Normal Order Creation

Normally, you will need to choose a minimum of…

  • An order name,
  • An order number,
  • The start date for the job
  • A description of the job
  • An asset that is part of the job

There may also be additional items present depending on your organisations needs, such as job type, owner, urgency etc.

Finally, you can also choose which media items are going to be useful to people completing the job. These are normally the isolation procedures and safe work instructions for the job.

When choosing an asset, remember to just type the first few characters of it's name and then click the correct one from the list provided.

Quick Order Creation

Quick order creation can be done from the asset maintenance page. All this requires is a single name - a simple work order is constructed from there, with the selected asset being the focus of the work order.

Assigning Assets to Work Orders

To assign assets to a work order, use the Edit Work Orders page once you've created the order and assigned one or more assets.

All work order media is taken from the media sections of the assets attached to the work order.
