Setting Up Scheduled Transmission

This step has changed noticably from earlier versions of the addon. For customers still using the older version, see Setting Up Report Email

ARDI allows you to schedule the creation and transmission of reports.

Although most users choose to send reports as emails, the system also supports the ability to directly deliver your reports to online services, such as Sharepoint, Slack and Discord.

To deliver reports, we need to know three things - which reports, where they go, and when the should be delivered.

As such, there are three steps to the process.

1) Creating Report Bundles (which reports to send)
2) Subscribing Users or Creating Destinations (where to send them)
3) Scheduling Transmission (when to send them)

We'll take you through the key steps.

Creating Bundles

The first step is to create a report bundle. A bundle is a group of related reports that will be sent out together.

This can be done through the report administration pages, available by signing in as an administrator and going to Administration|Report Settings, then choosing Report Bundles from the list of options.

You can create a bundle for any purpose you like. Common report bundles include…

  • Daily Summaries
  • Daily Technical Reports
  • Shift End Reports
  • Weekly Reports
  • Monthly Reports

Most reports in a bundle will share a particular theme and time-base (ie. all reports will be 24-hour).

A single person may be subscribed to any number of bundles, and a single report may appear in many different bundles.

For example, it's not unusual for a report containing key KPIs and totals to be sent in both the daily summary bundle (for management) and the daily technical bundle (for engineers and operators).

See Creating Report Bundles for more information.
