Panels

Data Explorer dashboards are made up of panels, which can be re-sized and moved around the page.

Each panel has a particular type, and will show one or more channels of data.

Moving a Panel

You can move a panel by clicking-and-dragging on the lighter-grey bar at the top, the same way you'd move a window around on your normal PC desktop.

Other panels will shift out of the way as you move your panel around.

Resizing a Panel

You can resize your panel by clicking and dragging on the arrow in the lower-right corner of the panel. If you can't see the arrow, it won't appear until your mouse is hovering over the panel.

Like moving, resizing a panel will cause other panels on the page to move out of the way.

Note that Resizing your panel to be larger than the screen may cause you to scroll downwards uncontrollably. Try to keep your panel sizes to the size of the screen.

Changing Panel Names

You can change the name of the panel by right-clicking the bar at the top. This will open the right-click menu on the header. There are several options in the menu, one of which is Rename.

Removing Panels

You can completely remove a panel by right-clicking the bar at the top. This will open the right-click menu on the header. There are several options in the menu, one of which is Remove.

Merging Panels

You can also merge two panels. This combines the channels from one panel with the channels from another, allowing you to compare them more directly.

Note that there's no sanity check when merging panels, so it's possible to combine two points that are of completely different scales or totally unrelated measurements.

To merge, right-click the bar at the top of the panel. This will open the right-click menu on the header. Hover over Merge and another menu will pop-up allowing you to choose which other panel you'd like to merge with.

Splitting Panels

Splitting is the opposite of merging - it takes a panel with several channels and breaks them into several individual panels.

The split option is also in the right-click menu of the panel, and will only appear on panels with more than one measurement channel.
