Current Point Query

The Current Point query is very similar to the Point query in most respects - except for the fact that it only ever shows the value of the property that was live at the time the query was made.

This is true even if you have set your Grafana date filter to look at some time in the past - the Current Point query ignores your date range and provides the latest information.

To allow its use in a number of situations, the Current Point time series contains two points - one at the beginning of the time range, one at the end. If you are using aggregations in Grafana, we suggest using First, Last or Average.

Extra Values

Unlike Point, Current Point will include values that are not linked to your historian, such as static or fixed values.

In the above example, you'll notice that the Current Point version is flat (as it only includes the latest value), and that there is an additional line for Time till Maintenance Due, a property that isn't linked to an historian.
