Creating Location Hierarchy Assets

To help give your assets some kind of structure, ARDI comes with a built-in hierarchy - the location hierarchy.

Without this, your assets would simply be a mess - you'd have no easy way to navigate through your assets unless you were already intimately familiar with them.

The location hierarchy will give our facility some much-needed structure.

It is suggested that you sketch out your hierarchy on a piece of paper before you begin, as this helps solidify your design

1) On the sidebar, click on 'Hierarchies' and then 'By Location'.

2) Find the '+' sign on the right hand side of your site and click it.

3) Enter the name of the next element in your hierarchy (for example, 'Building A') and give a rough description of Building A (you can ignore the 'tag' field for now - this will be required later when we are creating equipment.).

4) Click 'Create Asset'

5) Go to '2' and repeat until your hierarchy is complete. We suggest going down to the level of an individual room or cabinet.
