Resetting and Purging your Database

ARDI includes two options to partially or completely erase your database.

These are most often used when creating training sites for people to become familiar with the ARDI administration interface, or when beginning a new database based on an existing one.

Differences Between Reset and Purge

A reset completely restores your database to its blank state - only the default relationships, properties and assets exist.

A purge removes all of the assets from your database (including your types, although you can choose to retain those if you wish).

A purge leaves your metadata (properties, relationships, symbols, 3D models etc.) intact.

How To Reset or Purge

Go to Administration | This Site.

Below the site data, you'll find the buttons for both reset and purge.

WARNING: These actions are extremely destructive. Because of this, you will be required to enter a code in order to proceed.

Choose any options that are available for your reset or purge (this allows you to retain some data) and press Erase Database.
