Detail: Flow Control

This section allows you to adjust the flow control settings for your asset.

These effect how property flow works on your assets.

Isolation Point

By marking your asset as an isolation point for a given relationship, it will be highlighted in some clients when they request a list of active isolation points.

A new property will also appear in the dashboard indicating the state of the isolation point, if one is available.

Non-Return Point

A non-return point is a point where flow can only ever go in one direction. For physical processes, this is usually done with a check valve, diode module or another type of purpose-built, uni-directional asset.

Properties can not flow down-stream through a non-return point. They also help establish isolation on a system by preventing down-stream components from feeding pressure into up-stream ones.

Source

An asset marked as a source is a source of energy. Hydraulic pumps, generators, battery-storage system etc. are all sources of energy.

For an asset to be confirmed as isolated, it must not be able to reach…

  • The start of any relationship chain (the start of a chain is usually considered to be a source), or
  • Any asset marked as an energy source.

It is not uncommon for an isolation point to also be a non-return,
