Installation: Windows

This guide covers the basics to install ARDI onto a Windows 7 or 10 host.

Note that this installation is only available as a 32-bit installer. Because many industrial applications are only available as 32-bit applications, ARDI needs to be installed as a 32 bit application in order to take advantage of them.

Size

A full installation of ARDI (including all of its libraries and associated services) should consume approx. 1.2GB on your device.

Note that this is the initial install size only - as you add assets, your ARDI database and cache will continue to grow beyond that initial amount. Addons - particular the ARDI-VE addon - can add considerably to that amount.

Install It

Download the latest version of the ARDI server from http://ardi.optrix.com.au/download

Run the installer, and make sure that you've chosen to install all of the dependencies (the default option) to ensure that all of the components are installed correctly.

Note that this installer is designed to be run on a clean system - it will install services such as the MySQL database and Apache web server, which may conflict with existing software such as Skype or IIS.

Add Additional Drivers/Addons

Windows versions of ARDI should include the Extension Manager.

If you enable the Extension Manager addon, you'll be able to install new ARDI drivers and extensions, as well as updating your existing ones.

Once downloaded, you'll need to install your license file. If you have issues, check our ARDI Installation Troubleshooting Guide.
