Changing the Site Root
This feature is only available in ARDI 2025.0.2 and above.
The ARDI sites folder (where all of your ARDI database data, media, settings etc. for a single site are stored) can be awkward to find for new users, as it's deep in the ARDI folder hierarchy.
To make finding content easier, you can choose a different location for your ARDI site folders via environment variables.
The ARDISITEBASE environment variable can be set to the name of any folder accessible from the ARDI server, including UNC or network paths (although we suggest using local storage wherever possible).
This path must finish with a slash.
NOTE: You will need to restart your HTTP service for the change to take effect.
WARNING
Moving the data outside of your web folder may cause compatibility issues with some addons. We generally only suggest moving the data outside the ARDI web directory if it is required and alternative methods of linking (ie. UNC paths, symlinks etc.) aren't viable.
